Some of the historians states that The first phase of industrial revolution happened from 1770 to 1830 and some others states that it happened from 1760 to 1860.The second phase also have the same conflict. Some historians states that it starts from 1830 to 1870 when it spread to other countries in Europe and to the new world. But some states that it happened from 1860 to the present day. However, it is an undisputed fact that the industrial revolution began in england in the latter half of the 18th century and reached its climax there by the close of the third decade in the 19th century. Commercial revolution and mercantilism are the main causes of  the industrial revolution.During the age of commercial revolution the capitalist class was in search of new opportunities to invest their surplus wealth. The mercantilist policy was designed to increase the quantity of manufactured  goods available for export and there by to realize a favorable balance of trade. Thus in a sense industrial revolution was the child of commercial  revolution which preceded it.
